He is immortal. Born in the Highlands of Scotland
400 years ago, he is not alone. There are others like him,
some good, some evil. For centuries, he has battled the forces
of darkness with holy ground, his only refuge. He cannot die unless you take
his head and with it, his power. In the end, there can be only one. He is Duncan McLeod, the Highlander. Here we are, born to be king, where the princes of the universe. I am a model. I have inside me blood of king. I have no rival. No man can be my equal. Save me till the future of you all. Coffee, please. You look like you could
use something stronger. No, thanks.
Just coffee. Been riding a while? Spain.
On a bike? This time of year? Tell me about it. How much longer to Paris? Three hours. Well, The way you ride may be, too. We have rooms. We could stay the night
and live in the morning. I don’t think so. I’ll let you sell for a bitch.
Where are you? I know you’re out here, coward. Come on, you bastard. Show me your face. Oh, no. Not again. Shit. Lady, it wasn’t me. I found him like this. He’s dead. You killed him.
No, no, no, lady. I never touched him.
I never touched him, I swear. Somebody call for me. What is that? Oh, my God. It’s good to be back by Notre Dame. I hate the suburbs. I think you missed a spot. Thanks, Maurice. I don’t know what I would
have done without your help. I was supervising.
Some people are born sailors. Some are captains.
Really? Really. Hello, Richie. Mac. You look like hell. Trouble? This is Maurice, who lives on the I’ll
be in the garage next door. Richie is an old friend. Getting older fast.
How are you doing? Vitamins? The boy needs iron. I’ll keep it in mind. Maurice, Richie and I have
some catching up to do. I understand. You don’t have to ask Maurice twice. Red meat and red wine is also good.
Maurice. Thanks.
Any friend of yours-I know. Fine. After I left you, I hit the road. I must have done,
I don’t know, 20, maybe 30 states, but I was But everything was cool. I went down to New Orleans. I met this really wild girl named Monica. We rode down to Rio
together for the carnival. Don’t tell me this is about
another woman, Richie. No, it’s not about a woman. In fact, she turned out to be not
quite as wild as I thought she was. Then what? Then I hopped a freighter for Spain,
and everything was good. Everything was good until I got to Madrid. I was staying in a pension with a couple
of guys in there, planning on riding again the next day. Carlos. Carlos. Carlos, maybe.
Let’s get there. Carlos. My God. You’re sure he was an immuno?
Mac, I’m positive. He just killed that guy for no reason. There’s always a reason, Richie. You never saw what he looked like? No, he just took off. What about the police? I don’t know. I didn’t stick around to find out.
That’s not good, Richie. Well, Mac, it gets worse. He killed a hotel clerk in Marseille
right after I checked in. Oh, man. I didn’t… I didn’t know what to do.
All I could think of was to come here. And he followed you and killed again? Yeah, this morning at a gas station
a couple of hours south of here. Mac, do you know what’s going on here? I mean, why doesn’t you
just come out and fight me? Maybe it’s not you he wants. Mom. No. Not again. Who are you? Who are you? Have you seen Connor McCloud? No. Have you found him yet? Who are you? Martin Hyde. What do you want? I want McCloud. Then you have found him. Don’t lie to me, boy. I have Where’s Connor McCloud? First you have to face me. You’re not worth the time. Let me get my sword and I’ll
show you what I’m worth. I didn’t kill worse than you for exercise. I don’t want a cop. I want the wolf. Run away. Fight me unless you Coulon. Maybe I will take your head. After I’ve taken your arms and your
legs unless you tell me where he is. Do it. I’ll die before I give
Connor up to the like of you. Too bad. In the sense, you’re here, too. If you’re still alive. I will be alive. Just make sure you are. You.
Me? Come here.
It’s not my fault. The war’s lost. Tell Jean, I’ll pay him tomorrow. Who owns that badge? You’re not from Jean, the bookmaker?
No. I’m in the market for a barge. That one is not for sale. But my boat- Everything has a price. Not for McCloud. He doesn’t seem to care about money. He’s not Duncan McCloud.
That’s right. You know him, too? We met a long time ago. What a coincidence. Another old friend of his just arrived. I take you to them. Not yet. Mccloud Close enough right here. But you could give him something from me. Since you put it that way. Mr. Hyde? How long will you be in Paris? Mr. Hyde. Hello, police. I have some information for you. Right now, he wants you running in scared. What good does that do him? He finds out where you’re going. But, Mac, all I did was come straight…
To me. So this is all set up to find you? Oh, man.
And like a genius, I led him right to you. Mac, I’m really sorry. There’s no way you could have known. You know this guy, don’t you? If it’s who I think it is,
we met a long time ago. So what should we do? What you do is to be dressed. Mac, I got guys dropping all around me. I can barely close my eyes. I’ll keep watch. Go on, Rich.
Even your models need rest. Mac, after I left you the last time,
I just didn’t know if I’d be welcome. Just because a relationship changes,
Richie, doesn’t mean it ends. Even the best of friends don’t
always have to agree on everything. When you’re in Paris,
you can stay with me on the couch. Thanks, Mac. It means a lot to me. I… Well, I… I know, I missed you, too. Tough guy. Take it easy, brother.
Oh, Mac. Sleep. Finally, for the first
time in weeks, I feel safe. I wouldn’t talk too soon. Cops. Go, get in, go. Watch out, Bednard, here he comes. Get in the car. Let’s go. Bring in the suspects. Line them up. Look at them very carefully. Take your time. Number three. Are you sure? Take all the time you need, okay? I don’t need time. He’s the man who killed my husband. Everybody can leave, except number three. Do I get to see a lawyer? Come on, let’s move it. Are you okay? Thank you. And don’t worry,
we put him away for a long time. Believe me. But it won’t bring my husband back. I’m sorry. I think we’ve got our guy.
Inspector Bardot? Yes? I’m Duncan McClown. Oh, the one at the barge. Where’s Richie Ryan? Your friend’s in serious trouble. And so will you be if I can
prove you were hiding him. How long are you going to hold him? Until the judge sees him,
and then he will be taken to the men’s prison in Friaray, where he belongs. You’re making a mistake, Inspector. Richie Ryan isn’t a killer. No, we just got a very positive ID. Or maybe you think that woman
who just left was lying? No, but even if he was there,
it doesn’t mean he did it. He ran. He had a sword when we arrested him. He’s wanted for murders
in Madrid and Marseille. Looks like a hell of a case. That is all circumstantial evidence. Was there any blood on the sword? We’re testing it now.
And what about a motive? Free gas, money. Sometimes people kill for nothing.
Not Richie. You want to help your friend?
Tell him to confess. Excuse me. Just get some money. That’s all I want. Let me see. . Mac. You all right?
You got to get me out of here, man. I will.
I will soon. I mean, these guys, they act
like I’m already convicted. I can’t even tell them what
the hell is going on here. They don’t see us guilty
in France, do they? No.
So I’ll just do life. Man, it’s a happy thought. At least they can’t pay any
more murders on me that way. There won’t be any more, Rich. He’s already found what he wants. It’s just a matter
of time until he shows up. You can take this guy, right? Hope so. Well, gee, your confidence
is overwhelming. How is your friend? How did you expect
under the circumstances? So many police.
What did he do? He was in the wrong
place at the wrong time. That happened to me once. They claimed I stole a chicken. But you’d never do that.
Of course, no. It was a duck. Maurice, did it… Was anyone around
the barge while I was gone? Mon Dieu, I forgot. He even gave me his card. But how did you know? Did he say anything? He wanted to buy your barge,
but I told him you wouldn’t sell. Was I right about your barge? Don’t worry, Maurice.
Mr. Hyde doesn’t want my barge. I knew it. Lucky for him, he said
he was a friend of yours. He’s no friend of mine. A liar, too. Next time I see him, he’s going to be wanting another barge. Maurice, can you take my bags inside for me? Sure. Good to see you, McClough. Can’t say the same about you, Hyde. I didn’t think you would. You got yourself a hell
of a reputation over the years. I kept busy. So have I. Tormenting young immortals
and killing their teachers. It works.
He let me write to you. It’s amazing how the young ones
always run back to their teachers. I’ve taken a lot of trouble finding you. You ought to be flattered. You ought to be dead. I’ve hunted and killed just about every
creature that has walked the Earth. Sure you have. But it’s nothing compared
to the kill of a seasoned immortal. Let’s get on with it, shall we? You want to shout in my head? You help me get my friend out of jail. Sorry. I can’t wait. It’s only a matter of time, the cloud. You can’t run forever. How are you holding up? I’m okay. Hyke came by. So what happened? We fought. So he’s dead, right? But, Mac, you’re still here.
I ran. This is a joke, right? What’s the matter, Mac?
You didn’t think you could take this guy? It’s not about that, Richie. I drove the alibi. If I kill him, they nail
you for the murders. Great. It’s just great. If you win, I’m convicted. If he takes your head, I’m still here. Either way, Mac, we’re both screwed. Something I can do for you? How about finding the real killer? We did.
No, you didn’t, and you already know that. The sword was clean, wasn’t it? Well, maybe he used something else.
Or maybe he’s innocent. Oh, we all like to prove our friend’s
innocence. Inspector. I’ll be in touch. Mcleod. Leave the police work to us. Excuse me, I’m looking for a Mr..
Martin Hyde. Martin Hyde? I figured we don’t have
anyone here by that name. And even if there was,
you wouldn’t tell me. If he does arrive, would you mind
giving him this for me, please? I see him, I’ll be sure that he gets it. Thank you. A message for Mr. Hyde. Thank you.
Yes. What do you want in the cloud? Nobody keeps me waiting. Sorry, I had a phone call to make. Drawing up your will? Something like that. Let’s go. It’s time there’s no place to run into. Where’s your sword? Can’t we just talk about
this like gentlemen? What? You’ve always been this antisocial. Look, I got a pack of playing cards here. Maybe we can play some
Jim Rumming or something. What’s this?
A joke? Just trying to be friendly. Open up a line
of communication or something. If you think I won’t kill you just
because you won’t fight, you’re wrong. You and your reputation, I expected more. Sorry to disappoint Drop this off. What the hell is this? All part of the game, Hank. There’s your murderer, Inspector,
with the murder weapon. You son of a bitch. Put it down. Are you okay? Just glad you weren’t stuck in traffic. Here’s your real murder weapon. We’ll see. Let’s go. It’s really remarkable. At least 400 years old. Thomas Aella made only
six like it around 1600. How do you know so much? Because I’m in the antique business. What about the blood? It was well cleaned,
but we found traces from the gas station attendant and the man at Marseille. Then Richie’s free to go.
He’s free? How did you know about Hyde? You have my statement, Inspector. Which left out as much as he told.
Such as? Why two men would be
carrying swords around? Why Martin Hyde was a collector.
He wanted what Richie had. But collectors don’t
normally murder people. Martin Hyde wasn’t a regular collector.
The victim and no swords. What’s his motive?
Who knows? Sometimes people kill for nothing. Back. Where’d you go? About time. I think the guy in the next
cell was looking to go steady. Please sign for your sword. Sure. No offense, Mr. Ryan,
but I hope I don’t see you again. No offense to you, Inspector,
but same here. Let’s go. Do me a favor. Make sure he keeps it in a safe place. I’ll try. That’s for It’s evidence. So what? This can’t be happening, can it? Must be a dream. Oh, my God. Mac, this is my fight. I owe this guy. Richie is not going to fight you. Besides, I owe him a lot more. I am sorry about your friend, Duncan,
but it had to happen. I know. I thought I was prepared. And I was a friend. A friend’s death is never easy. I was there when he was born. I held him in my arms. I watched him become
a man and then a father. Today, today, I
married a man that was old and gray. And it’ll happen again. Is that why we exist? All our friends are lovers. They all die and we remain. We are immortal. And their loss is the price we pay Is it worth it? It is. We gain wisdom, knowledge. We have lives they can only dream about. And you will have a long time to get used to it, my friend.
Will I still go? Will I get used to it? I have a remedy for what you’re feeling. Cognac de Capucin. So good are you and your wines. This is the finest cognac in all of France. It’s wasted on here. It doesn’t know the difference
between cognac and urine. Mccloud, has he no one bothered
to take your miserable head yet? Or yours, but I can remedy that. No, Duncan, we’re on holy ground.
Then I’ll move from it. You really think I’d
come for you, McCloud? You ever got it to bear with a knife
or taken a lion with a spear? Even in death, they continue to fight,
but it’s nothing compared to the kill of a seasoned immortal. Oh. It is me he’s come for.
No, sir. Why? You know I must face it?
You have much to learn, Duncan. Yeah, but if he wins. I’ve lived this long, haven’t I? Keep that for me. I’ll meet you in one hour
on the steps by the bridge. We’ll drink it together. After you. Buy the bridge in one hour. You may be the best secure, but I hate drinking alone. This is the best cognac in all France. Meet me by the bridge in an hour
and we’ll drink it together. Mac, what if you don’t come back? Then that’s up to you if
you want to go after him. Make sure you’re ready. Mac. I hate drinking alone. Me too. Hello, McClad. It’s been a good hunt, McClane. Almost hate to kill you. Almost. Me. This is it, Highlander, the moment of truth. See you in hell. It’s some strong stuff. Yeah, it took a little getting used to. Of course, it wasn’t like
younger ones to go gave it to me. After all that time,
it’s just a shame to drink it now. Well, I wanted to drink
it with I’m good friend. Then went away another 250 years. Thanks, Mike. Something bothering you? Just hide. I should have wagged this son of a bitch. Yeah. But I saw him first. Here we are. We’re the princes of the universe. Here we belong. Fighting for survival. We got to be the rulers of your world. I am a model. I have a me blood of king. I have no rival. No man can be my equal. Take me to the future of your.

I remember this episode is how I was introduced to the Highlander lore, you can imagine my confusion, but I was hooked! Hyde was one of my favourite villains, I wish he could have been part of a multi episode story arc!
Good Lord !
The cheap synth soundtrack to these 90s series was so terrible.
The Tintin series sounds just the same.
Martin Hyde could kill Duncan easily
Merci beaucoup pour la série d'aujourd'hui 👌
Merci, 🎉
Merci beaucoup pour le partage. Bonne fin de week-end
❤❤👏👏
Ooh, what a great episode! ❤ The reunion is dorky-sweet, Mac's Scottish accent comes out when he's emotional, the period flashbacks exploring the price of immortality, a narcissistic villain, a hot French detective, the reunion is dorky-sweet, Richie's baby-blue eyes behind bars, how dorky-sweet is that reunion? 😊
"Just because a relationship changes, doesn't mean it ends." Sound advice Mac is giving himself here, 😂 I'd rewatched their "break-up" just before and yep, I was right: Mac was conflicted about having to let Richie go as per tradition, but he also couldn't admit it because it wouldn't be honourable in his view. So he is about half-convinced that Richie has done something wrong to elicit this reaction, but that in itself makes him sad. Add to that the way he says "Don't tell me it's about a woman again" – Mac Mac Mac… 😂
I am also wondering: I think they let Adrian Paul infuse the character with some of his own quirks because as I recall he's a Gemini in Western and a "Pig" (Boar) in Chinese astrology, exactly like me, and many of Duncan's mannerisms are Gemini (jokes, quips, smiles, flexible but principled, etc). I think it's great we have a Gemini Immortal… as my ancestors the Getae were called the Immortals of Zamolxis.
Nice one
What I don't get is why it's always winter in the Paris episodes? Those trees are always leafless in every one, did the production team get an off-season discount or something?
❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉😊😊
Thank you ❤❤
