Does it really improve things? Has anybody hit the flag yet?
I can imagine a big Ford truck charging that flag like a bull. You know, they take up the whole lane as it is, and moving over is not really their thing.

  2. I have one and use it when I have my kids on the back of my cargo bike. These are great and have had zero issues with it.

I get the point, but god I’d be too embarrassed to put this on my bike

Please tell me that is attached ny some kind of easy release mechanism? For when it gets caught on a car that ignores it etc….

  5. Here I am debating tubes or tubeless after swapping tires for less rolling resistance, and you’re here riding with a flag out the side.

When another cyclist wants to pass on the left do they bunny hop over it?

i wish bikes and cars better shared to road, but no, I am not risking my life like this. some jabronie will be incited by this flag and you are more important than this needlessly complex tug over war over who has the right to the blacktop. *wrestle with a pig and get covered in mud*

How to be even more annoying and create artificial danger which could be easily avoided lol.

  9. For those in the UK I’d reccomend a PassPixi- it’s a magnetic speed camera symbol. Drivers see it and think you are videoing them, which may help with close passes etc.

Hard to judge efficacy but I never ride without one now – and it’s aero and lightweight!!

I like the idea, but I genuinely don’t understand the choice of words. If I were a car passing you, I’m not sure I would understand what “Take your lane” means at all.

Lol, as a NYC cyclist this is so foreign to me. I’d never get anywhere with one of these on my bike …

  12. Who needs a headwind when you’ve got drag like this!

Enjoy the increase in quad size!

  13. I’m a cyclist myself, but God do I hate people that do this.. And even from user perspective, how do you squeeze between cars with that thing on ?

Certainly puts another cyclist looking to pass you in a dangerous spot.

  15. A friend of mine used one while biketouring and reported drivers regularly tried to break it off intentionally. Just be careful out there!

I’m all for safety (and here in Argentina we cyclist have quite a bad time riding) but this looks like a death trap…

Please tell me that, with you riding the bike, a friend pulled it out and you didn’t move an inch while doing so …

Because if you are “counting” on that happening if it gets caught on a truck I really wish you luck.

Now attach an American and a POW flag to that pole and the big pickups trying to smog you will be very confused about what to do.

If you would do this in the Netherlands you would have been hit by cyclists and cars within seconds 😀

Also I love these because when cars pass to close: ***scrrrratch***

At least mine does, it has a sharp tip on it. Great for making sure motorists know they can go fuck themselves if they get too close with a big scrape on the side like they got keyed. One guy called the cops on me about it and ended up arrested bc he freaked tf out on the cops when they told him HES in the wrong for passing too close and they aren’t writing a report ab it etc etc, no accident or jnjury occurred, and he legally passed too close cause they measured the distance on my flag and it was legit so. They did write a report that night tho, just didn’t favor asshole Joe in the minivan doing 60 2 feet from my body.

  20. I’m having a hard time deciding if this makes a trek better or worse looking

I did this for a while too. Definitely makes people slow down and reminds them that the law defines me as a slow car, not a fast pedestrian.
