Hi all. I'm hatching plans to turn my old Genesis Day One single speed bike into a 6-speed dream machine. I've been researching the project and think it might be do-able with the above parts. Could it work? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Why six speeds?
The image of the mech you’ve posted has an integrated hanger desigined to clamp directly onto a semi-horizontal dropout. You want one [like this](https://www.jejamescycles.com/product/2172970/shimano-shimano-tz500-direct-rear-derailleur/option/?srsltid=AfmBOorvkRpLWOtnz4L_Uo1u0XZMlMIoM5Q4GvO4C-nlcL0AhpH6K-2LX48&gQT=1) if you’re planning to use that DMR mech hanger adaptor.
I assume you’re going 6 speed for a reason but personally I’d be thinking about getting something a bit more modern. 9 speed is pretty chunky, not too pricey and there are tons of options, used or new.
