Not at all fake, as it’s around 12 years old. If anything the bike is overpriced, considering its using a groupset that was superseded in 2016.

No. That headset and steerer tube is a dead giveaway. First of all, that bikes uses a really weird headset where that top cover (the thing with those holes in it) actually threads onto the steerer tube to a ring that is glued to the steerer tube. That is how you achieve the preload.

Also, on the steerer tube that you can see though that gap in the stem, that weave pattern is a very clear sign of the special construction technique Time uses. Also, the weave I can see on the frame is consistent with the two Time bikes I have in front of me now.

Its not fake. Looks like a very real Time manufactured bike to my trained eye. And, this is probably one of the easier bikes to authenticate, just because Time’s are indeed so unique in their construction.

Edit: There are like two machines in the world building bikes like this, btw. One of them is in the Time factory in Slovakia, which is likely where this bike was built. Or rather, the machine that built the bike is in Slovakia, the bike might have been built in France, but they moved the machinery to Slovakia a few years ago.

  3. I honestly don’t really see people faking TIME frames. Depending where you are, $1000 CAD *might* not be that bad. I think that has Ultegra 6800 on it, which is still a real nice groupset today.

As for asking price, it depends where you are but I would not have any problems paying $800 CAD for this if the condition is good. I paid $600 CAD for my CAAD10 2011 (which came with Ultegra 6700) and I’m in the lower mainland BC area.

I am not sure to understand why there is some red tape too near the back wheel
