I recently bought a used mountain bike and have to replace the brake pads. I’d appreciate some help on which replacement pads to buy. The current setup has Shimano metallic pads that say F03c on them. The brake setup says Shimano Deore XT.
Could I please get a recommendation on what I should buy? It’s for the pads only, as they squeaked hard the first time I rode them, and even after cleaning them thoroughly, the squeaking was severe.
I’d be riding beginner trails only on a cross country mountain bike.
Do I need to buy the exact same model, or is there a good alternate brand. Thanks in advance for any tips. I’m quite new to this.

If you are a beginner, don’t mess around with 3rd party parts. Buy the exact same part and replace.
From your second pic your pads are completely gone. Replace before you ride.
If you’re at a loss as to which pads, you need, find a local bike shop and ask for advise. Deore is generally good quality, unless it’s been beat up by the previous rider.
