I've planned a route from London to Croatia and I'm concerned about the last part, through Croatia itself. Up till today, I thought nothing of it but after stumbling accross somewhere marked "Baby Bears" on OSM, I realised that there are probably bears in the wilderness that I have chosen to ride through. I also found out that a lot of the land I'm cycling through has potential for landmines and looking at the route now, it seems quite remote for long distances with little water, shops and civilization in general.
he start of my route connects with Slovenia's West Loop from bikepacking.com, but from there it's just the RWGPS "Unpaved" routing all the way and I've done some adjustments to make it make a bit more sense, including adding water and food stops.
This is my first ever bikepacking trip of such scale so I feel like I maybe went head over heels into planning this part. I've done some reading, mostly on here, and it seems like theres a couple main ways to go through Croatia. The EV8 is one option, but it doesn't seem like there's many good places to camp around there and I'm not sure if I have the money for 10 days of bnbs. There is also the ferry hopping option, but I think the same things apply there. I know there is the Adriatic Crest route on bikepacking.com but neither me or my friend I'm heading out there with has suspension, I have a rigid MTB and he has a gravel bike.
Can anyone recommend some good adjustments to my route that don't compromise too much on the wild camping aspect?

Well I can’t see the details of your route like that.
In general… Yes, there are bears in Croatia. Mostly, not dangerous. But I’d take normal precaution. Also, it’s possible to sleep in mountain huts when in the mountains, which is what I like to do.
Don’t be afraid of the mines – unless marked. If there are signs, don’t go off the path. Ever.
But don’t be scared. You’ll love it.
I always recommend to climb Zavižan, go through Dabarska cesta, descend towards Gospić, and then climb Majstorska cesta. Visit Muškovci (if not high season), visit Krka or wherever is your destination.
