Note, it is still rideable, but as soon as you put some pressure on it especially at higher gears it starts skipping pike crazy

Het a new chain, a chain breaking as you put pressure on it could result in you diving head first over the bars. Not worth the risk

If you have a chains tool, you could push the pins out and replace it with a master link.
Chains are consumables though. Riding a bad chain can also damage your cassettes.

Had the same recently. If you’ve got a chain tool you can pop the link off

Put a link in. Clean your chain. First check overall wear on everything.

A bad chain is a real hazard. Imagine it snapping at the wrong moment when you’re in the street. Chain snaps are not something you can plan for. Say for example, you’re trying to pedal hard to get out of trouble, you can lose your balance next thing you know you’re laying on the pavement trying not to become roadkill.

It’s dead and crusty AF.
Check the rest of your drivetrain for wear. Putting a new chain on a worn cassette is going to give you a worn chain.
And get some degreaser & lube.

Step 1 remove chain
Step 2 clean the heck out of your entire drivetrain. Based on that grease buildup I’m guessing your derailleur pulleys are caked up along with everything else
Step 3 install the new chain on a sparkly clean cassette/crank

New 7spd chains are like $13. Buy the new chain.

Oh dear me, you need a new chain. Like, ASAP.

Bro the chain is so stretched the pins aren’t even centered in the rollers. You need a new drivetrain at this point…cassette and chain need to go. Probably chainrings too.

Is it fixable? Yes, but I strongly recommend not to try, as the chain will probably fail in the same way soon after, most chains are cheap (not 12 spd flattops) and if it gets stuck it can be dangerous

I’ll get voted down for this but I’ve fixed plenty of bikes with a chain like that by using two pliers to bend it back straight. If it’s not an expensive bike that’s a quick and free fix

Thank you all for the imput, i’ll try to clean it up and replace the chairln and if its still skipping because cassette is worn i’ll probably just get a new bike
