    Probably …

Do a video call ASAP with brompton support … they can teach you how to use  the bike, check your problem  and escalate your issues.  I just did one for a maintenance training for new owners.

That way you can tell REI what’s wrong if anything other than the bolts.

I have bought 2 eBrompton’s from REI – no problems.  Do you live near an REI or Brompton store? The DC flagship has a Brompton expert in their bike mechanic shop … he advised me only bike. He and his wife own two.  DC also has a Brompton store.

  2. Hey. It looks like you don’t have a rack. My brompton wheels also touched without a rack. I am lucky enough to have a brompton junction near me and they gave me larger roller wheels for free and the problem went away.

  3. are you sure the hook to the rear triangle is hooked on correctly when folded

  4. That’s how it is – nothing wrong here! Same on my 1997 and a 2024 model.
This issue led me into a rabbit hole because I didn’t want to add a rack:
First I added larger wheels. This improved the rolling but caused the bike to tip over super easy. The Minimods extender solved that issue and is very nice in use and of great quality.
Unfortunately it’s a costly add on but makes it very usable.
