Welcome back to day 48 of biking from Norway to South Africa and day five of biking through Denmark. We had gorgeous weather and the wind was in our favor all day. So, we had a really big day today, our longest day of the trip so far. And it felt really good to just crank out a bunch of miles and not have to worry so much about like all of the conditions. Um, we rode on a lot of different types of terrain today. Also, this was the first time I’ve seen any like gate opener like this. Usually, we have to get off the bikes to open them. So, that was super cool. Love that they have that. Um, but yeah, we rode on lots of different types of terrain. We were on trails and gravel and pavement and just all over the place, which was super fun. It definitely kept the day feeling dynamic and interesting. We’ve been riding on the one cycle route basically the whole way down the West Coast. So, it’s been so nice not having to like do any mapping or route planning. You just follow the signs and the signage is super good. So, yeah, it’s a really fun way to bike. And yeah, the bike infrastructure off the trail too has just been like 10 out of 10. It’s so cool to experience somewhere that has clearly like put a lot of effort into prioritizing cyclists on the road. And yeah, I really appreciate it. We picked up a pretty significant tailwind around here that let us put in our fastest miles of the trip so far. And it was really fun. We literally felt like we were flying. We stopped and had a little croissant break, but we didn’t want to stop for too long because we didn’t want to miss out on any of the amazing winds and riding conditions. So, we got going pretty soon after that. But then the trail we were riding on was super flooded, so we had to double back and find a different way to get to where we were going tonight. Not a big deal, just like a kilometer detour. Um, and yeah, then the sunset started popping off and we were really close to our shelter for the night. These birds put on the most beautiful show for us and it was such a nice way to end the day. And yeah, that’s all for day five.
