I’m considering having my 91 Trek 950 mediablasted and powder coated for $75, and I’m wondering what opinions everyone has regarding it.
When I bought this bike there was a bunch of areas of rust that I liberally applied rust converter to. The worst spot was right on the trek logo on the right side down tube (see photos).
I’m still concerned about the rust spreading and getting worse in areas that I couldn’t reach with the rust converter.
Would it be worth it to have the bike blasted and powder coated for $75 bucks? This is kind of my all around bike that I use for bikepacking, cruising, and commuting. I’d be bummed to see the original paint job go, but I think it’d probably be the best decision overall.
What do you guys think? Thanks in advance!

I’d just lightly sand and clear coat the rusty spots and keep the rest of it original.
If it’s in the budget… otherwise tons of other things to update
