This is day 11 on the road to Rome. We woke up late feeling a little dusty after last night’s celebrations and rode to Meradona for a breakfast fuel up and supplies for the day ahead to Merida. The sore heads were soon cured after getting through the rural rush hour. We got stuck into the champagne gravel for the day with no real climbs on the itinerary. We tried a new Mexican Spanish fusion for lunch, which went down a treat for on the road fueling before continuing our gravel feast. We rolled into Merida at 4:30 to find the municipal Alberg full, so a hostel up the road would have to do. A romp around the ruins and town before a light dinner and some admin. Another 47 miles in the bank.
