I broke it today on my commute route, but the bike feels fine. Is it necessary to get it replaced?

  2. I don’t know what that is called. Decorative plastic? You don’t need it. It is probably screwed onto your chainring. You can probably unscrew it and throw it in the trash.

  3. Without this, you’ll want to be more mindful of allowing your leg to touch the chain.

  4. i’ve always thought the main purpose is to keep your chain from coming off. keeping your pants leg away from the dirty chain makes sense too

  5. A chainguard’s main purpose is to keep the legs of your pants from getting caught and to be slightly protect from dirt and debris. I’ve always removed them.

  6. If you wear long pants while riding put a rubber band around your pants so they don’t get in to the chain.

You Need to clean that thing.

And your back tire is bald.
