It looks like you snapped the core. I think you might be able to theoretically extract the threads left in the rest of the stem? Does not look like an easy task honestly.

I’d just redo the stem. Unless you have inserts it shouldn’t be that difficult.

  2. You can probably bend the stem back straight and screw it back together. I have bent many over the years and haven’t lost one yet.

see if you can unscrew the core! If you can get it out (with a special core removal tool, or pliers) than replace it, if not you will have to buy another valve stem. Cores are less than a buck, stems around 5-20 for a set. good luck

If you can get the old valve core out, you might be able to use it again. Just get a new pair of stems and keep a backup in your riding kit

Edit: changed stem to valve core

  5. Looks like theres some damage to the stem (top thread or 2 is broken off the side), so it would probably be best to replace it. If you don’t want to replace it and have a spare core, pump it up and add some soapy water to the stem to see if its leaking

Just try to replace the valve core and see… don’t post about it on Reddit.

Stem looks damaged as well at the 1st couple threads in pic 2. It may still work, but that core looks like it may be difficult to extract. It would probably be best to replace the entire valve stem. At least then you know for sure everything is in working order

  8. Get a valve core kit and tool. Replace the core, air up the tire, and GTFO riding!

  9. It looks like you ripped the threads right off of the stem due to over tightening with that aluminum valve stem cover.
