Cool music on the background. Christopher. Oh [ __ ] Are you good, Christopher? All right. You got that on camera. [Music] This is my personally my seventh time doing this tour, this trip. And um it’s Yeah, every year it just keeps getting better and better. Woo! Let’s go. Don’t crash. Watch out. Oh my goodness. The adventure begins with a scenic train ride. We leave Albuquera and head towards Villa San Antonio, the eastern most point of the Portuguese south coast where our journey on the Onehe will truly begin. Hey everyone, my name is Fabio and right now we’re at the train station to start the tour. Let’s go. I can’t wait to see the landscape and the trails. I think it’s going to be pretty cool. It’s going to be awesome. We’re going to spot a lot of places that we will ride tomorrow. So, it’s going to be fun. Cool. Uh my favorite place is in the last day we go to the highest point in the coast. It’s like 100 m high and uh right after that is the gnarliest [ __ ] gnarliest trail. Yeah. Yeah. It’s the absolute most difficult trail to do without stepping off the board. It’s super sketchy. And the view from there is just that’s like my favorite place on there’s a very good gelataria there. The guy is Italian. Oh, amazing. It’s my favorite ice cream here in the region, honestly. On board, we’re all taking in the breathtaking views, previewing the trails we’ll conquer tomorrow. We call this day zero. Upon arriving at the hotel, everyone checks in and gets settled, and I share a few words about the trip and the organization. This year, 25 riders are joining the tour, making it an intimate experience where new friendships are easily formed. With an enthusiastic round of applause, everyone heads to bed knowing tomorrow marks the start of a week full of adventure, early morning, and unforgettable memories. So guys, we are here with Lars. Let’s see what he got to say to us. Hey, Lars. Do you want to say something? I don’t think so. Hello, Hugo. How are you feeling so far? Good. I’m I’m feeling pretty good. Okay. Is that camera very heavy? It’s okay. Do you want Do you want me to hide behind the the post like this and then I come out and like, “Hey everyone, welcome to the 6:00 news. I’m your host and today is a [ __ ] show. So yeah, we started our day today at 6:00. It was the breakfast. 6:30 we started riding to the most eastern point in the country as far as we can ride. As the sun is still hidden, the only sound is the hum of the one as they glide through the quiet streets. The excitement builds as we approach the starting line. We went from what felt like a ghost town into an isolated road with the vast sea as the backdrop. We pause, taking a moment to admire the view of Spain across the water and get our minds ready for this week-long journey across the country. Yeah, we’re going to start the ride. It’s going to be a lot of fun. The forecast for today is pretty good, so I think we’re going to have a lot of fun. With the first trail ahead, we take off into the dark morning. As the fog lifts, the sun begins to warm everything around us. Halfway until the next charging stop. It’s around 7:30 in the morning. Everyone’s excited, listening to music, having a good time. We just did a super flowy trail. And uh now, let’s get ready for more. Are you ready? I think they’re ready. All right, everyone. You ready? All right, let’s roll. After a few kilometers through the streets and trails, we arrive in the charming town of Monte. So, at the moment, we are on our first stop of the tour in a beautiful town called Manta. It is a very highly touristic spot. It’s super nice, a quiet town. The beach over there, it’s amazing. Very, very long. It’s It’s really nice to come over here during the summer. Right now, everyone’s charging. They went for coffee. Of course, it’s still very early. This is normally the time that we wake up. Not Not the time that we’ve been riding for like 2 hours already, almost. As the sun climbs higher, the riders slowly shake off the early morning groggginess. I’m tired already. All right, we have PJ here. I need the [ __ ] He also needs to take a [ __ ] So right now we are already with a little over 20 km already on our legs and around 60 to go today. So that’s going to be a long a long journey for sure. We’re going to have our first sight of the Selenus or salt flats. It’s very beautiful. It’s super nice to ride right next to it. So our next stop will be Tvida. It’s going to be the first big city that we pass on the tour. It’s a very old town and I think they have 50 something churches on that. I might be wrong. I might be wrong. I’m going to check it out and we’ll put the number if this shows up in the video on how many churches they have. But I know they have a ton of churches that in that city. I’m sure everyone’s going to have a good time there as well. Heat. Heat. [Music] [Music] By 11 p.m., we passed by the first set of salt flats with a stunning trail offering a beautiful spectacle of nature. [Music] You go. I’m filming you. Who filming [Music] me? [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] So in the little Yeah, it’s so nice. I have a ghost rider here. I have a ghost rider here. Let’s ghost ride. So right now we’re in Tira, the city that has 21 churches. Check that out. And it’s a very old, very beautiful town. The path here on the river that I’m sure Hugo’s gonna catch it on the drone. You’ll see it right now. It’s beautiful. It’s a very, very beautiful town. I really enjoy coming here throughout the year just, you know, when I have a day off. It’s It’s very nice. It’s so hot right now. Very different from what the predictions had had told us throughout the last few days. Yeah. Right after this, we have another maybe 16 17 around that 18 km to go to Fusetta. And right there, we have a chef already waiting for us and starting to prepare our delicious food. That’s going to be super awesome. It’s close to lunch now and we start to get very hungry. But this isn’t just any meal ahead of us. It’s a lunch prepared by one of the finest chefs in all the oligarch. We might even say all of Portugal. We’ve already done 40 kilometers, so we’re starting to feel our legs. But with the prospect of a delicious meal ahead, it was easier to get back on our boards. And some riders even pulled out their special gear. Shout out to Max Sand for making this awesome chairs. I can see throughout each year that the riders are getting more and more confident and way faster. But I always try to keep everyone safe and share some tips that I learned from crashing a lot. Don’t push too much to the point where the horse knows that. Okay. Okay. Welcome to riding speed. Okay. To speak and to sit. Oh, [ __ ] Okay. And we need the bike. Do I sit on you? Uh, yes. You can sit on me. Okay. Bye. Bye. [Music] But with more confidence, the occasional crash is inevitable. Like I said earlier, today marks a special moment. We meet Chef Dooo for the first time in the beautiful town of Fusetta. My name is Dio and uh I’m the chef of this tour. Been around with you guys trying to get you some good food, put you in the right mood. He came with a van and prepared us a delicious dearish that is rice with seafood. I really don’t know how to say that in English. And it was so delicious. Food is such an essential part of these journeys. not just for the taste, but for fueling the body after hours of riding. He’s a really, really good chef, and I think the guys are really curious to see what he has in store for us in the next few days. He’s really cool. He was actually the driver for our support van 2 years ago. Yeah, in the first tour, I was not riding. I was the driver, but this when I learned to ride and then I got a few injuries and I’m executive chef for a few restaurants. Okay, cool. So it’s a lot of people depending on me. So I cannot take the risk to get injured. It’s a lot of responsibility in my job. What is the name of those two new restaurants? One is called Malandra. It’s going to be in Vashku Dagama, the big shopping mall in Lisbon. It’s that for me is a big challenge. And the other one is called Duro. It’s going to be in Santo, like a more cosmopolitan area with night life and everything. It’s good. After a hearty meal and some dusty trails, we stop for our fourth charging point in Oano. As the shadows lengthen, the day nears its end. I put ketchup on the pizza. [Music] Right now we’re in Oang. It’s our last stop of the day before we get to Faroh, which is our final destination of day one. Tonight we’re going to Farro. Once we get to Faro, we’re going to head out to the hotel, drop our bags, and afterwards we will eat at a delicious restaurant. It’s called the Bernachu. See you there. And then blood. And then this DVD. Oh, you touched it. Spin. With everyone heading west, we simply follow the sun, knowing it’ll guide us to our next destination. As the sun sets, the planes overhead hint at the adventure that awaits tomorrow. [Music] How many kilometers did we did today? I don’t know, 80 to 90. Yeah, around that. It’s really the longest day today. Everyone’s very tired because we told them to be down at the entrance hotel in 10 minutes, 20 minutes ago. I’m hungry. I’m tired. I want to eat. So, I’ll go get them. [Music] We head out from the hotel at 6:30 in the morning and start day two with a thrilling trail that loops around the Farro airport. So last week I was checking predictions every single [ __ ] day. Monday, which was yesterday, said it was the worst day out of the week. I mean, if that was the worst, I’m very happy. And now it said today was starting at like six or seven. Oh, six hours. That’s Yeah. But then it’s already it’s already six, almost 7. Now it says that’s at 10:00. So hopefully we can just keep pushing it one hour after another. [Music] The clouds are present today, making the sunrise more subdued, but we are lucky to spot flamingos and other wildlife along the way. [Music] Right now we’re just uh heading out of Faru. We just went around the airport. That was super nice watching the first flight of the day. And right now with the sun rising, we are crossing the Selenas right here in Far. We’re heading out to the university which they are very kind to let us charge our boards there. Hopefully, it won’t rain that much, but very, very angry clouds. Worst case scenario, if it rains, we chill at the university for a little bit. I’m going to have coffee cuz the Italian is getting pissed. So, we’re going to have coffee right there and put our bars charging. Sun rising in the background, flamingos flying around. It’s nice. Thank you for these amazing sunrise, Fabio. Of course, was amazing. Very good. Yeah. Fabio, pre alert the ambulance. Okay, Hugo, film this. So, what does it mean? Means strong and persistent rain in the next 48 hours in your region. Strong wind, risk of flooding. Stay sharp. Focus. The weather today is unpredictable, changing by the hour, which adds a bit of challenge to planning. Fortunately, the rain holds off for now, allowing us to enjoy a cool, exhilarating trail that serves as a great appetizer for what’s to come. Is on record over the water and check your times on the appetizer. Good with coffee. I got you, sir. This working? No, it’s not working. Is it working? I don’t know. Is it working? It’s time for the appetizer. I have no more. Yeah. Heat. Heat. Take it easy. Take it easy. Okay. As the first drops of rain arrive, it’s time for a quick board charge. Just a short distance away is the University of the Algarf where we can recharge and refuel. Smells like [ __ ] All right. Now we’re at the UAL or University of the Algarve. This university is specialized in mostly marine biology and all kinds of uh more natural uh stuff. I don’t know how to explain it better. But right now, we’re charging and we have our food truck right there preparing food for us. I think on the menu today is ramen. So, with this cold, I think it will feel very, very nice. It was a rainy day and I said, “These guys need the comfy food.” And that’s what I did. People are charging already hit the trails here for quite a while and the trails here are super super fun. It’s a shame that’s a bit rainy, but it is what it is. Hey guys, we are here for the second episode of the Sleeping Rider interview. Today our guest is Lawrence from Ibita and let’s see what he got to say to us. But be quiet. Hey Lawrence, how is the tour? Thank you. So what do you think? It’s really good. It’s pretty good. Are you selling it? It’s not working. Oh, yeah. It’s working. Yeah, it looks like it’s working. [Music] After lunch, we head closer to the coast and the sound of the wooden paths add a unique melody to the [Music] [Applause] [Music] landscape. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] The day is almost ending and we arrive at a gorgeous beach framed by a small forest. [Music] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] There’s Shadows stretch longer. We pass the Villora Marina and catch one last breathtaking view of the sea before heading to our hotel in Albuera. Today we start in Alfera and we planned something special for the riders. Day three. This is the extra day that we have on this tour and it’ll be a bit more chill. Was this plan or this is like plan F. This is like uh this is plan D. It actually didn’t go to according to plan due to the weather. So, we had to go with plan B which didn’t work. Plan C kind of. So, welcome to plan D. A little surprise. We’re going to shoot each other. Every time that you see rip your eye off. Oh, damn. Fabio, you’re too close, man. You’re not in focus. Are you ready? Yeah, of course I am. Yakopo, are you ready? Yeah. I actually I’m not ready. 3 2 1 Heat. Heat. [Music] Wake up, bro. Did I got shot in the end? Yeah. Gopo, what did you what did you thought about the about the paintball? Yeah, it was fun. A little bit uh painful. I felt like I was inside the Call of Duty for for a second. The first game I tried to just hide more and see how it goes and being a spotter, but the last games I was like in front row shooting a lot and really really amazing. A lot of adrenaline goes off. It was a nice surprise. Surprise. Yeah, it was a surprise. Yeah, it was a surprise from the team. Surprise, [ __ ] Because today we had we should have gone uh paddling or surfing, but the ocean is pumping. It’s pumping a lot. So, there’s a lot of people that never serve for puddle. So, we had to change and we didn’t know what was the the next adventure. And this one was a nice surprise. Meanwhile, Chef Diego is working hard to prepare the perfect lunch. How you doing? Good. And you? I’m good, thank you. Another mission today, huh? Yeah. No electricity, cooking on fire. We like challenges. Today we’re going to eat some uh typical food from uh pubs in Portugal. This is called bifana. Very typical. It’s pork in a wine and garlic sauce. It’s good for hangovers and it’s good for end of the evening. How did it went the paint bowl? That was pretty fun. Never did it. And now fresh guacamole. Take it. I wanted to give it in your mouth. It’s like the cheese in the in Switzerland. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. But here it’s guacamole. So, the rest of the program for this extra day is to do a single track trail that is amazing. Right in the interior of the Algar, so bit further from the path that we do on the coast. And this will be an insane trail. Very challenging actually. We’re going to go to a town called Pad to charge, get something to eat, and afterwards, we’re going to visit the um Pad Castle. But the adventure isn’t over. It’s time to get back on the boards for an exciting single track navigating through trees, branches, rocks, and roots. [Music] go. Okay, let’s go. [Music] We arrive at the ruins of Paderna Castle. This castle was built around 1,000 years ago, and during our visit, a member of the city hall welcomed us and explained a bit more about its history. [Music] When we left the castle, it got dark and we went back to the hotel in Albufera, marking the end of this epic day. And here is also leaking. Yeah. This morning, the weather forecast predicted rain and for once it was right. So, we decided to head to our next hotel by car. All right, day four. Party at the car. The clouds over behind us, they don’t look that friendly. I don’t know. We’ll we’ll decide over lunch. See what people are feeling. That that probably can work also with a little bit of uh wet, but I don’t know if you can find it with duct tape. Maybe it works better. [Music] It is what it is. Yeah. [Music] And so you go, what do you think about this tour? It’s pretty amazing. It’s pretty amazing. Yeah. Even if it’s raining, we’ll still we’re still all together and this is I think the best uh the best thing of the tour. And what do you think about the filmer of the tour? So right now it’s pretty cool. Now it’s really cool. I I hope I hope he’s making a good job. Yeah, me too. We’ll see at the end. We’ll see at the end. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Definitely. Definitely. Uh since now, what’s your favorite thing you film? I think it’s not from the tour. Okay. The race where we did the uh best European trail rider. Okay. Uh Fabio landed. Yeah. His uh trick, his drop on the GoPro. [Music] [Applause] Oh yeah, that was nice. Yeah, this was cool. That was nice. And from the tour from the tour, I think it was when we were at the beach. Yeah. The trees. Yeah, that that was arrived. This uh it was was really really cool. Really cinematic, right? Yeah. Very poetic. Uh, what’s the hardest thing about being a filmer for the tour? What is very uh frustrating thing? Uh-huh. Is that um I don’t have second second chance. Oh, pass by. Yeah. And that’s it. Uh so I think I need to think ahead to say, okay, they’re going to pass here. So I need to get here. I need to have I I don’t have enough clothes. I don’t have enough zoom. Okay. So, this time I’m going to focus on zooms. If I focus on zooms, I will not be able to do some other. Anyway, it’s a one one shot. So, it’s it’s quite it’s a documentary. It’s a it’s a recording. It’s real life. So, nothing is script scripted. Yeah. Nothing is prepared previously. No, not for the It’s freestyle uh 247. Yeah. Okay. Good. I like it also. Yeah. That’s that’s cool. It’s a balance between being very focused and just being in the moment. Okay? Like uh if I feel um very happy, I would just take my camera and uh spread spread my happiness with with the camera. Okay. But if I don’t want to film, I You don’t You just ride. Exactly. I just my gear is in the truck and in the van. Yeah. And I just try to improve my my riding which improved a lot if I have to be honest. like really a lot. I remember you two years ago in Salagu. Salagu. Yeah. Yeah. Now it’s Now you’re a rider. My goodness. Now you’re a rider. Now you need your own board. Thank you. We should be We should be two cameramans. Yeah, that would be nice. Finished. It’s all in my body now. It’s all in my my blood to get some energy. Yeah, energy. It was a much needed break for everyone and we spent the day relaxing in an all-inclusive five-star hotel which ended up being really fun. But what happens at the hotel stays at the hotel. [Music] After a restful day, we continue our journey, remembering why we’re here. To reach the end of Europe. [Music] The wooden paths make a return, allowing us to glide through nature, close to wildlife and some friendly faces. Before lunch, we reach the highest point along the coast, taking in a technical track alongside a breathtaking view. Even though the sun is hiding behind the clouds, the landscape is still mesmerizing. [Music] The sleepy guy is arriving. You can see it. It’s quite rare at this time of the day riding a onehe. There you go. [Music] [Music] J. We are on day five. So this morning we left from Alvor. Right now we are in Salem and we’re finishing our journey today in Sagish. The end. We’re going to go to the lighthouse to end the journey. For the first time on the tour, we enjoy lunch at the restaurant that’s been a staple of the tour since the first year. We’re already We’re already late. We’re already very late. After the meal, it’s time for the final stretch of the journey. All right. So, Mario. Yeah. Where are we right now? We’re at the lighthouse. We’re at the end. Another tour completed. Cool music on the background, Christopher. Oh [ __ ] Are you good, Christopher? All right. All right. We just had our last crash of the tour. Hopefully. Yeah. Almost at the end. The lighthouse. We can see it is straight ahead. I don’t know. It’s uh quite an amazing uh feat. My This is my personally my seventh time doing this tour, this trip. Paths keep changing, riders keep uh showing up, new riders, old riders, new friends and old friends. And uh I just want to say thank you, you know, just thank you to everyone who’s a part of this, everyone who makes this possible, our sponsors also for the race, the cities that make all of this possible. you know, my friends who are here, my friends who support as well, my family who are very supportive, and of course, my beautiful girlfriend who helps me go to all the events and uh do this one as well. I love you. Thank you. [Music] [Laughter] All right, this is the end of the OneHe AlgarF tour, but not the end of the adventure. Tomorrow we will enjoy one last day in Sagish, soaking in the beauty of Portugal’s most southwestern point. Chef, what did you prepare for us tonight? Tonight we did casadillas in the beginning and now it’s three for you. [Music] Jack. We spent the last day relaxing in Sagish, enjoying the views. We even got a special permit to ride our one wheels inside this Sagish fortress, a monument that’s 500 years old. [Music] With this we conclude another year of the OAT and all right Now we’re at the BooBoo about to eat some glue with all the blue goo and it’s going to be fun. All right, guys. Welcome to the 6:00 news. Right now we have the world champion of One Wheel here with us. The world champion. The world champion. Yeah, bring some result, please. I’m feeling that it is what it is. Oh my goodness. You need to tattoo this uh Okay. Oh yeah. Willie, you know that Willie wanted to had the idea of bringing his tattoo stuff to the end of the tour and tattoo on my arm. Let’s go. Let’s go. Let’s go. Yeah. I’ll tattoo a microphone here and then start all the sentences around the arm. Okay. I’ll tell that you you pay for that. Oh, yeah. No worries. When you pay me for the video deal. Okay. There’s a backhand and front hand. Yeah. because it’s like I’m not sure. Okay, great. Thank you. Thank you for your friend of the video. You’re welcome.
