  1. Did you try loosening the small ring (don’t know the word for it) that keeps the valve in place?

Let a little pressure out. Remove the threaded lockring.

Push the valve stem into the wheel/tyre & give it a wiggle, which should result in the tyre bead sitting down into the rim.

I believe the tyre is sitting on top of the inner tube around the valve. Deflate the tube and push the valve further in. You may have to use levers to lift the tyre a bit.

Tube must move freely until tire is inflated. Lock ring on valve stem just helps protect tube and stem after inflation.

  5. Put a little air in the tube before you install it so it holds its shape and can’t get pinched under the tire.

    Tips for changing a tube:

Put a tiny amount of air into the tube first. Just enough so it becomes round.

After the tube and tire is on but BEFORE inflating:

Push the valve stem in a little so the tube clears the bead of the tire (This is your issue)

Check around the whole wheel to make sure the tube isn’t pinched between the rim and bead.

You don’t need the nut unless it helps pumping from flat on a deep rim. Over tightening can actually rip the stem out of the tube.
