Hello all,
I am new to biking world, and as my first bike I wanted a versatile commuter/fitness bike that I can use for virtually anything in Michigan (winter weather also considered, though I won't ride on snowy or slippery days). Well, I won't be taking it on the road for an extended ride, but just going to classes, gym, etc. with it while taking it to a trail or riding alongside a river (bike lane) if I feel like so. The main usage of the bike, nevertheless, will be transportation, not recreational.
I was originally looking at used Trek FX & DS, Giant Escape, or Specialized Sirrus X, but it was hard to find a good deal on those bikes that fits my budget of $200-400 (so that I will not be too sad if my bike is stolen on campus haha).
Then I stumbled upon a FB marketplace listing of this 2014 (estimated base on the color way) Giant Anyroad 1 for $425, but I negotiated it down to $250. This bike is definitely old, and it looks somewhat beaten up (I will check everything out in person before buying), but I was wondering if this bike is worth $250 given all that. I have noticed that at this price, what I will find is about a 5 or more year hybrid bike without a carbon fork when I am lucky. From what I can tell, it has an aluminum body, carbon fork, an old Shimano Tiagra 2×10, and mechanical disc brakes – which, spec-wise, seem to be worth $250.
I think the first two pictures were taken when it was new and the next two show the scratches on the bike. Would a 10 year old and presumably beaten up (assuming it is only cosmetic) gravel bike worth $250? Are there some things that I should check for when I see it in person?

It seems worth 250. Inspect for any major dents when you are in person.
