I would suggest you switch out the entire thing for a bike with gears and brakes. If you’re just getting into it, this bike will be frustrating.

  2. Doesn’t look rusty. Clean and lube the chain. Maybe regrease the bearings. Should be good to go.

If you’re new to cycling, the wheels won’t be the limiting factor.

Ride it and see what you want to change.

  4. It’s missing a few hundred hours of riding mostly. Clean it up and ride until something breaks, repair and repeat.

Edit: if that isn’t a free hub consider adding one. Will make it infinitely more rideable.

Edit edit: see if you can even put breaks in that. Might be a challenging bike for a beginner

  5. I would lose the pursuit-style handlebars. They just aren’t comfortable, to me. I realize that’s kind of a preference thing.

  6. This is a track bike, designed specifically to be ridden on a velodrome. They are generally horrible bikes to ride except on a velodrome.

    – Fixed gear
    – Large gear ratio
    – Very skinny, high pressure tires that probably have no puncture protection
    – No brakes, and usually no way to mount them anyways
    – Geometry generally suited to go fast for a short time, not for endurance/ workout rides

I second others saying to sell this and buy a different bike.

Fit at least a front brake. Not safe to try to stop with friction pedaling in an emergency, and there will be emergencies. You don’t want to hurt somebody, put on a brake.

This thing is sick bro already has Thomson elite stem and seat post really cool frame ive never seen before and seems to be in working order. Dope find Hope you have fun!! I will say I found riding fixed super challenging at first so give yourself time to adjust to not being able to freewheel

Edit: thought that lock was a brake. Add a front brake dude you need it for real

It looks pretty good from what I can see.

On mobile I used to be able to zoom in on the pictures but I can’t seem to anymore.

Anyway it looks pretty clean. Clean it up lubricate the chain, inflate the tires, adjust the seat post height…
