Right after this moment we all start to calculate the path home with the least amount of wind resistance like we’re some mathematical genius, “if I take this route the trees will block 20% of the direct wind…” lol

My routes 100% depend on the wind. Both good and bad.

It’s flat as fuck around here, so sometimes I use the wind as hills. Other times I try and PR segments.

It only happened once, then I learned my lesson:

Man, I’m feeling great. Got the spin down, nice and easy, just flying today! I haven’t felt this good on the bike for years!

80km later, turn around to head home.

Oh shit, the 40kmh tailwind just turned onto a headwind.

    😐

My route is west then east at end of day.
So I tend to get headwinds in morning and tailwind in evening.

Strangely though it seems to be more the opposite in last few months?

I’ve ridden a few times where you feel absolutely no wind pressure while riding, and that’s because your tailwind matches your velocity. It’s super peaceful until you ride home lol

  6. Whenever I’m riding my bike I feel like I’ve gotten stronger or in better cardio shape , I assume it’s tailwind. I’ve been fooled too many times…
