I love those early morning rides in winter, when the fog is thick enough to cut with a knife, turning gold in the barely rising sun, its 23 degrees tops, with wind chill and your right at that point of your sweat starting to make you cold cause your riding hard, you know as soon as the music in your headphones stops, and your back home, your gonna see the time and feel that bad feeling. Like dread and boredom. Exhaustion, and also the urge to keep riding to kill time until you’re worn out enough for an afternoon power nap after a sandwich and some juice. Thats when I do a lot of my riding to. If you’re not sleeping, you could be practicing the culture. Endorphins from exertion boost your dopamine and serotonin receptors enough to just keep pedaling sometimes. Can’t quite tell if its a good thing all the time.
