I just bought a new brooks b17 carved saddle. I noticed that the end is not even and the carved area is not exactly centered. There’s a little more space on the right side. For Brooks leather saddle owners— is it normal?
I never had one of these, yet I know they’re not cheap. For that sort of price, I’d expect better quality… I’d get in touch with their costumer service.

It’s clearly a manufacturing defect. You should be able to get a replacement without too much trouble.

You paid a lot of money for this. Return it. I’ve seen chinesium at the Ali X special with better finish than this

Id contact them or take it back to the to where you’ve bought it. Never seen this. Seems a little too far off to just be within a normal range.

Functionally, I think it’s fine. But it should have been sold as a factory second that doesn’t pass QA at a lower price. I’d definitely reach out to Brooks.

Looks like a Bwooks Saddle

if it makes you feel better my B19 is a little lopsided. The leather is a tab bit longer on one side where it drapes down then the other side. I’d include a pic but I removed it since it looked big and stupid on my bike and after a year of riding it it hadn’t gotten comfortable yet so it’s now sitting in storage and i went with a $25 saddle that is actually really comfortable.

My B17 imperial is the same! Didn’t even think to try to return it and now it’s too late. But I don’t think it makes any functional difference

Did you apply your proofide? It don’t look as bad as a saddle with tons of miles on it or a saddle that has been kept outdoors in the rain. Definitely ask Brooks for a replacement. If they don’t then apply proofide underneath the shorter side. Less is more, you probably only need half a pea size dab with a few ear swabs. Keep riding and put in a quarter turn every 6 months. I’m guessing it would straighten out or look better in two years.

I’d say at least 1 out of 10 I see have this issue
