    Tailfin Packing Cubes. Should I buy?


    I already created a topic about Tailfin today, I decided to ask about another product. Since I'm already making an order, should I add Packing Cubes to my cart? https://www.tailfin.cc/product/accessories/packing-cubes/packing-cubes/?v=4605f628f91d

    The price is high, of course, I can buy other dry bags that are lighter and cheaper, but these are the perfect size for the Tailfin bag. Does anyone use these? Is it worth it?

      In my opinion, these are always a bad option unless you’re a packing freak that needs to compartimentalize to the minute detail. Then again, I also tend to just pack things in a plastic shopping bag, fold the top and call it a day as far as “packing cubes” go (cheaper, lighter, pretty much same result).

      Iā€™m not sure these are needed, especially at those prices. You could probably get a few cheap dry bags off of Amazon if waterproofing is a concern. Usually a few zip lock bags will suffice for smaller items.

      I would much rather use some generic compression bags and sacks where needed:)

      More money for stuffing your face during your trip, imo šŸ™‚

      What problem are they solving?

      Why is putting your stuff in a bag, inside another bag, useful?

      Like if you need a bag just use a cheap stuff sack, or go full UL and just use a bread bag.

      Tailfin is just plain silly. First they were super proud for “inventing” the Tailfin Rack, which is nothing else than a pannier rack. Now they “invented” the Packing Cubes, which are nothing else than, well, bags.

      I’ve got them, would I buy them again, no, do I need them, no, do I need them, no, but tailfin, so got them šŸ˜‚

      I got the them. Game changer for fast moving they just work. Would buy again.

      That’s three stuff sacks. That cost Ā£79.

      Of course they are not worth buying.

      …but can you ever really HAVE the “modern bikepacking experience” without them??

      I like packing cubes, they allow me to leave the bags in the bike and they can also double as a pillow. But this price for these three? šŸ¤£
