The wife is signed up to do the transrockies singletrack six so we decided to make a trip of it.
Will be driving up from the Portland area with plans to stop in the Whistler/Squamish area and then driving over to the Kooteney’s where the race is being held .
We’ve got a Toyota Highlander with a velocirax carrying 5 bikes, two kids (11 & 14 … they both rip but hate to pedal) and a dog.
Ideally, we’re looking for places we can camp or fairly inexpensive lodging that’s dog friendly that are also close to fun trails.
We may end up renting a trailer or RV when we get up there or just try to find other lodging options. Would love to hear the recommendations from this community.

Heritage bike park in port gamble is one I really like and duthie
I just use the ioverlander app to find places to camp. I’ll usually do free, but if you need more family friendly they also list paid campgrounds. The Provincial Parks are affordable if they aren’t fully booked.
If the kids like bike parks try and hit up Sun Peaks. It’s my favorite behind Whistler, and in reality probably better since they never have any lift lines. Side note you can camp in the parking lot there for a small fee.
