Hey everyone,
I recently bought a new action camera and wanted to experiment with creative mounting angles during a solo gravel ride around Warsaw.
Everything was going great, until I mounted the camera directly to the seatstay.
One bump later, my Canyon Grail CFR frame cracked.
Turns out, the seatstays are just too fragile for any direct mounts, especially on this bike.
I strongly recommend never attaching anything directly to carbon, unless itβs an official mounting point.
The crash replacement program worked, but it was still expensive and deeply frustrating.
Sharing the story in case it saves someone else from the same mistake. Happy to discuss if youβve had a similar experience

Most damage that looks like a crack is a crack, so you should stop riding the bike immediately. This post will be reviewed by the moderation team.
