  1. Gravel for touring and long trips and everything not singletrack but roads, gravel roads and nature paths – MTB for gnarly singletrack, jumps and drops…. Thats how I use them at least… Dont use my mtb for touring cause its heavier and requires more maintainance

  2. Both are good for that. If you only do trails like that or more rugged go mtb, if you also do asphalt or dirt roads (or if you want to do long diatances) go gravel. If your pocket allows, both.

  3. If you are on the path with a stopwatch, a gravel bike is definitely better. But live is not allways about saving time and reaching gosld. As soon as you want to merge deeper into nature and prefer an active riding style, you cannot avoid the flat handlebar, even if it is just a totally rigid MTB with far tires.

  4. I like the gravel bike but I went with the wider 650b tires on mine and let some air out. Better for trails with rocks and roots but slower on pavement.
