I've worn and washed these bibs probably five times since purchasing them in March. I've always air dried them. Yesterday I washed them with a jersey and a few other items and they ripped along the seam. I noticed a bit of loose seam material there on my last ride, but don't have a pic of it. Bought these from an LBS. You think they'll give me my money back? Or at least let me exchange them for a new pair?

Do you have a washer without an agitator? Sometimes they can get caught in the seams and get ruined. I use a mesh bag for my bibs.
I think you’re SOL about getting an LBS refund but worth a shot.
No, I don’t think they would. Once you buy something, wear it and wash it, it’s your responsibility to take care of it.
Those bibs got caught somewhere in the washer. Unless you get it fixed, be prepared for a lot of ripped clothing in the near future. Could be a failing seal in a front loading machine, or something else, but it has happened to me and it will get worse.
Each of my bibs go into a delicates bag when washed. Always.
Did you have heavy stuff in the wash? Like a towel, cotton jumper etc?
Also, did you wash on a cold cycle (30’C or less) with non-biological detergent and use a garment bag?
Hot washes 40′ plus are obviously bad. Biological is bad but many get away with it rather than having bio & non-bio. Garment bags protect your kit, so why not.
The big risk I think is heavy items that soak up water and / or over filling the machine .
I use a laundry bag. Once a pair of bibs got stuck in the agitator and the straps were wrapped around it. No lasting damage but I swore never again.

This was a you mistake. Not a bike shop or product mistake.
It totally sucks. And I’m very sorry that happened. But it’s no one’s fault. Not necessarily your fault because you’ve washed them before with no issue. It’s not the products fault that it got caught on your washing machine. And it’s not the bike shops fault that sold you nice but fragile Assos bibs. 🤷♂️

These are now indoor only bibs. This happens to my crashed bibs too. It’s not a total loss.

Laundry bags on amazon. 3 for like 7 dollars. I wash all bibs individually. No issues with my gts bibs
