Tried to do so carefully with the port on the leaver open, but it doesnt move

If you are replacing the pads with new ones, yes, you need to push the pistons in until they are flush with the caliper, or the new pads will not clear the disc. No, you do not need to open any ports to do this. Your piston may be stuck, check SRAM YouTube, they have several videos to help. My suggestion is make sure you press the piston on two opposite sides together.
