I’m a seasonal bike commuter, been so for +15 years, not super knowledgeable apart from giving it maintenance and changing a tube and I’ve never had the budget to get a brand new bike until now.
I ordered the cheapest canyon in the size recommended by the website: a Pathlite 4 in xs, I assembled it and went for a short ride but it felt awkward. My legs were uncomfortably too bent when cycling and what I can figure out would help is to heighten the seat to have more space but that would mean to have it higher up to my waist so that I know would be dangerous to hop off/stop.
Any other solutions you see to this rather stupid problem that I’m not seeing? Can provide pics and measurements if needed!

It appears you are looking for bike fitting help. Please make sure you post as screenshot of the Canyon size chart for your bike, with your point in it. See [this example](https://imgur.com/a/ALUfXyy)

  2. You should really get used to the proper saddle height. It’s really worth it.

I know from personal experience that it can be a real mental block to seemingly remove the ability to stop safely but it’s all worth it in the end.

If you can reach the ground with your feet when on the saddle, then the saddle is too low.

  3. when with shoes, you should be able to reach the pedal at its lower point with your heel without twisting your butt on the saddle. too low seat can hurt your knees.

then just ride the bike, you will get used to the position pretty soon.

    can you explain this?
