“Tulips, Cycling 20KM & Cake” 🎂🌷| A Perfect First Birthday in Germany | Tulip Fields Near Magdeburg.

Hey everyone!
Here’s how I spent my 24th birthday (April 20, 2025) — with good friends, great views, and a lot of laughter 🌸

We went on a little adventure to the tulip fields near Schwaneberg (Sülzetal) — and trust me, it was one of those days that just felt straight out of a movie.
A bunch of us cycled nearly 20 km to reach there 🚴‍♀️🌼 while a few smart friends booked a bus through the MVB website (yes, you can pre-book it a few days in advance).
The stop you want to select is “Bördepark Ost”, and from there the bus drops you at Schwaneberg. After that, it’s a 3 km walk if you don’t have a cycle.
You can also take the Regionalbahn (RE) and get off at Osterweddingen Station, which is the closest train stop to the tulip fields!

Now about the cycle ride – oof, so much fun! The open skies, mustard fields, and the kind of vibe that makes you want to run in slow motion with a white or yellow saree like Shahrukh Khan and Kajol in a Yash Raj film 🎬💛🌾
I swear I even had “🎶 Tujhe dekha to yeh jaana sanam…” playing in my head while cycling past those golden fields.

But of course, no desi trip is complete without a little jugaad — one of my friends’ cycle pedal broke midway 😅. We tried fixing it, didn’t work. So what did we do? Just pulled it manually for the rest of the 20 km. Dedication, baby.

When we reached the tulip fields, it was just… surreal. There’s a special 5-row tulip patch where you can walk in, click aesthetic pics, and pluck your own tulips for 40 cents each. I picked five in different colors! 🌷
Right next to it is a massive tulip field where you can’t go in — but it’s a visual treat from the outside.

We sat right next to the tulips and had lunch picnic-style, just taking in the colors and peace. After spending hours soaking it all in, taking reels, photos, and living our best lives — we were DONE. So we took the train back (btw, bikes are free with the Magdeburg student ticket!).

And just when I thought the day was over — my friends surprised me at home with room decorations, cake, and all the feels 🎂💖
Truly a birthday to remember.
