I torqued mine to 5-6nm and it’s been tight ever since.

Is the bolt coming undone? If so you could put a bit of blue loctite might stop it from coming undone.

Never had an issue, own 3 Bromptons and I’m pretty much on one every day but odd weekend since 2019 minus pandemic although even then so called “permitted 30min exercise” got me on my Brommies.
As mentioned apply loctite and torque it down properly, check through if plastic is cracked itself?!
As for why it’s coming lose perhaps you have light/phone mount or something affecting the fold and somehow applying odd side pressure for it to wiggle out?! Clearly wild guess as you can tell.

Never been a problem for me. You can try some thread locker if you’re having probs

Bolts too loose then torque it down to spec about 5nm and it should be fine.

I don’t think it’s as simple as just tightening it off; I have the same issue, asked LBS; they say it needs taking off, cleaning out the screw hole in the plastic and then refitting. Seems to do the trick.
