Thanks for everyone's messages last weekend about my frame chip.
I decided to go the repair route after reading everyone's comments about how strong the repair would be. A new frame from Canyon would have been $1100 (CAD) but I was unsure of how long it would take to get here and didn't want to have to rebuild the bike, I have most of the tools but not all of them.
Timing and not throwing a perfectly good frame into the garbage both played a role in my decision.
Rob at Roberts Composites in North Vancouver did the repair and it looks amazing. He did great work and is an overall beauty of a human.
Total cost was $1k CAD and in extremely pleased with how it turned out. The small chip on the seat post turned out to be quite deep.
Plus, I now have a one of a kind Grizl instead of a dead bike.
Anyway, huge thanks again to everyone who replied and helped me make this decision. Especially to the guy who said to JB Weld it and get back out there 😂.

Looks good, and I’m happy to see you resurrect a frame from the landfill.
Looks a great repair, a bit pricey but a nice job
So in the end you almost paid the same price and had to rebuild…
I think JB weld while you wait for the new frame might have made more sense
This costs 1000? Seems quite allot or am I off here?
I paid extra for a rush job because I wanted it this weekend and for him to take everything apart and put it back together.
Big money for a repair job, but they really did a nice repair. Looks like part of the bike!
