A bit more r/vintage_bicycles than r/xbiking, but I like y’all better. Just built up this 80s “Karate” frame with spare parts for ripping the group rides. Rides so smooth. V rare.
Always upvoting downtube shifters. Not convenient on large frames, but damn they allow for a clean cockpit

Nice! Great looking groupset, do you know what year of 105 that is?
I bring an ’81 Shogun 1000 to the group ride. I’m out of shape after an injury and a toddler. But I used to hear “you’d be really fast on a modern bike,” but I would point out that I seemed to be keeping up just fine.
I found a long cage rd that matched my groupset and got the frame spread to 130mm so I can run 8spd with a 32t cog (I also lowered the rd with a knock off roadlink hanger extender). I love in a hilly area, so this has made a big difference.
Keeping an old school roadie eating up the miles get my xbike vote!

Bikes like this give me the itch to ride a road bike. Doesn’t happen often, but it looks so perfectly put together that I’d love to rip around a bike path on it.

Mid/late 90’s 105? Looks just like the stuff on my Litespeed. Nice
