29×2.6 Mezcals on 40mm rims?

Hey all, quick question back a particular tire set on a particular rim width.

I'm setting up my fat bike for bike packing with 29+ and I'm currently running wtb rangers in 3.0. they're a couple years old now and I'm wondering if mezcals in 2.6 will blow up big enough to be safe and effective with 40mm rims. Does anybody have experience with this setup?
