On my local trail I tried a home made jump which is basically a booter that sends you to god. Hit my nether regions pretty hard and bent the rails. Can I fix the saddle? I’m guessing I’ll need new rails. The part of the saddle that the rails connects to is a solid piece of plastic. Is there a method to jam new rails back in? The saddle itself is in great condition so I’d rather not have to throw it away if possible

Please don’t try. Try to find a cheap one on Facebook marketplace or a local co-op.

If the plastic tabs on the saddle aren’t broken, you can force it back in by putting the metal part of the nose in first and then trying to pop each of the rear saddle rails in. I’ve done this before, but it’s squeaked like a motherfucker after.

  3. I had an Ergon saddle where one of the back rails popped out after a crash. I tried really hard to get it back in but couldn’t. Fortunately they warrantied the saddle for me

Buy a new one seats are like shoes they wear out. Bonus points of you get fitted for your new seat.

There’s can and there’s should. You can definitely get it back in place (it’s pretty difficult) but the probability of it failing again is very high.

Okay, I’m gonna buy a new saddle. How do I change the flair to solved?

Imagine riding it and you lift your butt off the saddle because you start pedaling hard up a hill and it falls off and you don’t realize.

Short answer is no, you could try, but it probably won’t last long. New saddle time.

Consider where the pointy bits will go if your repair is insufficient.
