I’m a carbon fabricator and there are a few things going on here. First of all that paint is THICK, way too thick. That’s probably why it came off in one big frangible hunk. But it also looks like it pried some carbon straight out along with it. It’s a heavily reinforced area, and a repair would cost a minimal amount if you are not in warranty.
If you are in warranty, ask for a replacement – on principle.
