First it starts with "I bet I could fix that myself". Then you do, and realize it's actually kind of fun, and was easier than you thought.
And then the ADHD kicks in, and here we are.

And probably for the same money you would have spent at a shop, you are invested in a tool set and can now do things more quickly and cheaply.
Jealous. I don’t have the garage space, so all my parktool stuff lives in a toolbox in my truck. But I make it work! Just replaced my the chain on my husband’s bike. I made him watch, he gets to do it next time.

I have a drawer in the big box for bike tools
I also made the transition to working on motorcycles… makes working on bicycles seem like cake.
