This ski area was one of the best 30-40 years ago because it wasn't well known outside of Europe. There were rarely even short lineups; however, I preferred using the runs at Silvretta Nova and/or Hochjoch (Now known as Silvretta Montafon). The area isn't known for excessive nightlife. The Austrians of this valley were/are so friendly and helpful. From Montafon there are ski tours into Switzerland and a return run which are well worth the visit. The accommodations in Montafon were always a fair bit cheaper than those in areas like St. Anton or Innsbruck. The hotels, pensions and B&Bs were super clean. They were inspected daily. My favourite place to stay was at the end of the valley (Takes a short bus trip to Silvretta Montafon). It's called Pension Christophorus in Partennen. This town is a "Kurort" (A Kurort is an area specializing in natural health remedies such as springs, mud and salt water). For serious skiers and also families it's perfect since the town is silent after 10:00 pm allowing one to get a great night's sleep in preparation for the next day of skiing. There are also super B&Bs in Partennen. I stayed in one of them. They offered a traditional breakfast from a small buffet in addition to soft or hard-boiled eggs cooked to order. A fresh cup of coffee/cafe-au-lait/cappuccino, tea or hot chocolate made for you is served at your table. Fresh-made buns and breads were made in-house. Processed foods aren't readily found in these places. I was living in Vaduz, Liechtenstein when I learned of this ski area. I returned to the valley for vacation a few times after I moved to England. Back home in Ottawa, Canada now.
Okay I get that this is probably stupid but how the hell do u know ur going the right way 🤣 where is the bottom??? Do people go the wrong way and get stuck somewhere ???
I just recently started skiing and holding my balance on the skis is one of my biggest problems. Seeing people do this kind of stuff and literally walking upwards with their skis amazes me

Yeah, good luck getting decent snow in Europe with climate change. (been to St Anton in the beginning on Feb, it was horrible)
just been there, is that the galzig lift ?
are those backlands or bent chetlers ?
I live in BC where "freeride" is never necessary.
You should really check out the Krippenstein in Obertraun, Upper Austria. It's the freeriders Eldorado.
