I'm really torn and looking for some direction.
As the title suggests, I paid for a Praxis BB for my Revolt. I called the shop ahead of time to let them know what part I am after, as the particular shop I go to is quite small and I am conscious of taking up space while they were waiting for the part.
They got it installed no worries. I am always pleased with their service. I didn't ride the bike for a while due to personal reasons, but since the new BB, I have put ~180km (bit over 100 miles) into the bike. There were several wet days so before torquing the crank again, I decided to take the crank off to inspect and do a proper clean.
Then I noticed the following: press fit bearing on NDS is barely moving, DS bearing is already gritty, I had no idea what a "Gineyea" BB is, but I sure as heck remember ordering a Praxis (this bike came stock with Alba 48/32 crankset).
Now I know that rent is high in certain places, but man I really don't know what to do. One thing for certain is I will probably need a new BB real soon.
Has anyone experienced anything similar? Just looking for some direction, I am not overreacting am I? Oh on-top of paying for the part, I also paid them for installation.
I have uploaded some pics of my bike, BB, and the receipt of what they sold me.

Call ahead, explain the situation, send pictures if required but this seems like a mistake by a mechanic and not something you need to lawyer up on. I’d expect just to get the correct BB swapped out for free with an apology.
Yeah possible they goofed your order and this is what they had on hand or some other special order mishap. Not your fault, but since it’s used a full refund may be tricky, not impossible but possibly tricky… I’d ask for the difference between the Praxis & this one as a refund/ shop credit, ride it til it goes out and then ensure the replacement is a Praxis.
If you didn’t get what you paid for go talk to the shop.
Good call, I’ll get into contact with them.
This order was from back in mid-2023, so I could understand if they were sceptical. And given the bike (Revolt Advanced 2), not sure why a cheap BB would be installed.
But on me for not finishing the bike and riding sooner. I know pointing fingers won’t solve anything, plus the situation could be a lot worse.
Why are you posting this on Reddit instead of contacting the shop who sold you the part and did the labor?
