  1. Do not go with the I9 enduro s. The rims are weak and develop flat spots, leading to regularly broken spokes. There has been a few discussions on this.

I still have my front wheel with a 1/1 hub which has been fine, but the rear wheel developed flat spots and began regularly breaking spokes. I had a hydra rear hub on that one and wonder if that is also to blame as there have been quite a few cases of bent inner axles and hub shells deforming.

I9 aluminum rims are..not durable for heavy riders. The carbon rims are fine. Their hubs are great but probably need more maintenance than say dt in wet environment. I own torch, hydra, and 1/1 and have not had to replace any bearings over thousands of miles. But I hardly ever ride anything wet.

No experience with hunt but the hubs are probably generic oem and not going to be as good as 1/1. Maybe look at the reserve alu wheelset as well? I’ve seen them 20% off recently.

I have the trail wides from hunt, not the Enduro wides. Not a single issue once, ever. The free hub even sounds nice.

  4. I have the Hunt Trail Wides. Have had zero issues.

Had I9 Hydra on my previous bike. I thought I would notice Hunts’ 5° engagement vs I9s’ .5. But I don’t at all.

  5. Neither. I’d buy DT or quality hoops with Hope hubs.

I9 are not pillars of reliability but aren’t terrible. Hunt seemingly are basically mid tier Chinese products (absolutely nothing wrong with that mind you) with good customer service behind it.

DT are like Toyotas – they just work and don’t cause you problems but they also don’t get you laid.

I’m a Toyota / DT kinda guy, I like shit that just works.
