Hello y’all! As you can see from the title, I recently got a new bike and would like to know if there is anything special I need to know about owning an old bike like this.
Before I ride it around I will take it to my local shop for a safety check and get it tuned up. There are some rust spots but they didn’t seem to warrant any concerns, but I could be wrong about that.
I plan to use the bike as a commuter for my ~3 mile round trip ride to work, and hope that I could put some money into the bike and do a longer bike packing ride across the state this fall. I got the bike for $60 and I would just like to know if this frame would be worth putting money into if I end up having/wanting to.
Lastly, I am a grad student and quite limited on money so $60 for a bike that fits me (6’5”) seemed like a steal and I didn’t read anything bad about the bike online.
Thanks in advanced for the comments!

Wow. This is a throw back. I owned this bike. I did my first multi-state tour on it, cycling from Durham, NC to Auburn, AL. It serves me well for many years until the frame broke. The VAL-Lite tubing cracked. Fuji replaced the frame under warranty.
My only advice is to have the frame checked for any breakage.
