Completely new to mountain biking, as I don’t even have one yet, but need help understanding if this bike is right for my riding.
Can get this 2022 Rocky Mountain Instinct Alloy 10 of a family friend that only rode it twice for $1,000.
I live around the Austin area so pretty flat trails all around, but travel to Bentonville to see family 3-4 times per year, and also trying to switch jobs and relocate there. Would this bike with its 150/140 travel be the correct specs for riding in these locations?

Side note: Currently ride a Rocky Mountain Solo gravel bike and am familiar with the brand/quality.
I know it’s a great deal for the bike price wise, but don’t want to buy the wrong “style” of mtb for my trails.
youll be mint bud. maybe a tad bit over biked but doubtful if youre getting after it. my girlfriend has this bike and she rips.
Short answer is yes. It’s a great bike for your Bentonville riding. And still a good bike for any local singeltrack trails. If your local trails are more gravel biking paths and fire roads, it’s a little overkill and less efficient than a gravel bike. But it will work. Most full suspension bikes have a lever on the front fork and on the rear suspension that can firm it up for gravel riding or climbing. Just flip those switches as needed depending on your ride that day.
