I discovered this issue when I was helping out a friend this morning. I don't know the exact name of the part but I am referring to underlined parts. The previous ones were closed off on 3 sides so had the appearance of preventing shifting cables from slipping out. However, the new one is closed off only on 2 sides; this has the appearance of shifting cables being more prone to slipping out when the bolt gets a bit loose from all the riding. Does anyone know why Brompton did this? Just very curious because Brompton's parts tend to be fool proof.
