Wife wanted a one bike quiver with low standover for less than $1500. Figured I’d go rigid hardtail (most of her riding is paved or light gravel) with an option to swap in a suspension fork if the ride involved enough singletrack.

Ended up with a specialized chisel (picked up for $500) and mounted a Niner RDO carbon fork to it. Works great! Same atc, so no geo changes.

Wanted to put this info on the internet In case anyone out there wanted to do the same.

Cheers.

  1. Did you have it painted or was it a happy coincidence it seems to match the frame?

    Looks like a great bike!
