Hi there, I found a Merida Big Nine 800 2018 on a used market. The bike condition I would judge it like 9/10 the owner barely used. With the price of SGD600 (~USD450) is it considered a good deal? What I should be worried about a 2018 bike, do I need a full servicing before riding it?

This bike looks apsolutley spotless. With that saying if it wasn’t ridden much then everything should be in good condition! And 2018 bikes are not even that old anymore. I have a 2012 Mistral Black hardtail that I custom made some time ago and it works like a charm
$450? Sounds like a great deal. Hard to tell from a stock photo or without riding it however.
For 450 USD it’s a very good deal. There’s nothing wrong with a bike from 2018. Solid parts, no highend. Good fork, service should cost about 150. I would recommend a service, if the owner has never done. After some time of biking in the hills, you might consider installing a dropper post.
