  1. That’s only an extra 2mm per side. It looks like it would fit but I would grab an Allen key and see how many mm you can fit around the tire. It will give you an idea for clearance

  2. TLDR; No I wouldn’t go wider.

    A thing to remember is that your tire/rim will deform when your riding. Just because it doesn’t rub with no weight spinning straight, doesn’t mean it wont underload when cornering.

    That looks really close already. The bike is modern enough for disc brakes but has low tire clearance? Are you riding a hybrid bike or running a larger wheel than it was designed for?
