Which might mean it will be lighter but overall stiffer and less wobbly (I like wobbly over stiffer but that’s personal preference).
If this bike were aluminum I’d say it’s overpriced by more than 2x. But due to it possibly being steel (ask the seller or confirm via more research), I might be okay buying this at asking price or a little less. But again, look up the steel tubing material, and if that’s something you want. If so it may be equivalent to say, a Lemond Zurich from the 90’s and 2000’s (but not with the Lemond geo, I’m assuming, but even that you gotta look up the bike geo or just go and see and check it out in person).

Looks clean even if the components are from 3 generations of Shimano
Enjoy the ride

Those old low spoke wheels would be a concern.

In 2022 I paid $1500 for a 2008 SL2 Tarmac SWorks Quickstep edition in mint condition with all Dura Ace components; basically the very best bike that Specialized made in 2008 that Tom Boonen was riding.
That beautiful Allez is not worth more that a couple hundred bucks.

You should be able to get this cheaper

I wouldn’t pay more than 175 for that and even at that price why would I want it?

Steep price is it maybe a special edition or something to make it worth $700?

Hell no.
It’s kinda cool being a Columbus steel tubing frame. But steel frame road bikes are plentifully available.
There is one with same frame and fork for sale locally to me for $400 and it’s still priced too high.

Update: I took y’alls advice and offered $350 to which he said: I’m not willing to part with it for less than 700, but thanks for your interest.
If you’re looking for a a nice bike for a reasonable price I recommend you take a look at the Oakland flea market. A lot of bikes have been stolen, but they tend to sell bikes that are stolen from other parts of California and often times out of state.

$125 and that’s generous. Sounds like we have a Princess Diana Beanie Baby situation with the seller. Just keep moving OP.

Nope. $150 is what I’d pay. Anything with rim brakes these days aren’t worth a lot.

No just go buy a new base model Allez.

Idk much, but personally maybe a little too much. Def in good condition though and great components!
My thoughts: a lot of money for a really old bike. Way too much money.
Nice looking bike but 700 $ is still too much for its age . 550 would be a better deal
Idk but in the uk I wouldn’t pay more than £100 for a Allez that old. Like I’ve seen newer recent gen shimano 105 bikes for 3-500 gbp.
I wouldn’t buy it but I don’t know where you live and the inflation on bikes.
Sheesh. $250, $300.
Super nice condition, decent components, but that’s a very old bike and 700 is way too much for something like this.
I mean it’s lovely, but that’s probably more than double its value

Looks like it’s the 2004 model. But interestingly enough, looks like it’s Columbus Foco steel.
Apparently Foco is .5/.8 double butted, and heat treated. Hard to find info on it but some forums say it’s equivalent to Reynolds 853
