Hello everyone

I have serveral oakley sunglasses. For road (and gravel) cycling I use the jawbreaker of which I have two. In some cases (for example when climbing) I like to store the glasses inside my helmet. For the combo jawbreaker and my old helmet (giro agilis) this works fine.

However, I got a new helmet a few days ago and with this combination it doesn't work as I would like. It is the sweet protection falconer aero helmet (2vi). Weird thing is that a lot of reviews mention that this helmet is designed to store you sunglasses and it's designed so that the glasses won't get dropped from the helmet.

Problem I have is that I have to stretch the frame for about 1 cm (from 13,5 cm to 14,5cm) to make them fit inside the helmet.

I would like to get some input from the community. Is this normal? Does somebody also have a combination glasses/helmet where the glasses need to be stretched this much? Do you think this will damage my sunglasses in the long run?

My new helmet is still unused (only tested it once, off the bike) so I can still return it but I like the design and it really fits my head nice. It also got good reviews and should be a safe option. So I like to keep it but I also don't want it to damage my sunglasses…

Thank you very much for your feedback! I hope the pictures make things clear…

  1. Wow. Lol. OCD much? If you have a big head, you’ll also stretch your glasses when wearing them. Just take them off the helmet when you‘re not using it.
You’re overthinking. Sorry, but the calipers cracked me up…
Wear and tear is part of life.

    I have a jawbreaker/sweet protection falconer aero “v1” size L, and I don’t understand the question.

They just slot in. Sure, you might have to widen the arms a little to get them in, but that tension helps keep them there.

  3. Maybe all the folks on this sub who have not worn their jawbreakers since the sutro came out in 2020 can donate them to this guy! lol
