  1. Usually Decathlon’s 500+ series are fine for the price. The only thing you might immediately want to upgrade this or that (say brake pads, grips or saddle).

And eventually upgrade something else like chain if you plan to commute in winter. Original Decathlon’s getting rusty way more often than better quality KMC on other bike.

  2. He’s hella fat, like almost 20kg if I’m remembering correctly. Almost feel like moving a cow

  3. I bought it last summer as a commuter bike when the weather is bad and I don’t want to use my roadbike. For my 5km commute its just fine and does its job. You get everything you need on your bike. Lights, mudguards etc. If you have very hilly roads then the gears might be a bit limiting . At 35km/h I start to spin to fast and on very steep climbs it starts to get hard. I used it the whole winter here in Switzerland and it works on cold and rainy conditions. A fine bike.

  4. Great bike for a great price. The tire and pedal are not great (slipery pedal and the tire feels like cement).

If you’re have very steep climb, you’ll might want to change a bit the transmission (switching to a 32 crankset or switch to the 11 speed cues). But with a bit of fitness, the stock transmission is manageable.
