So I have a 2021 Trek marlin 6 (2×8), and sometimes, my chain is slipping under load. So could my cassette or chain be worn out? I have never changed the chain or cassette and I've owned this bike for 3.5 years.

Casette looks fine – but dirty AF and overgreased.
Give it a prober scrub and put oil only on the chain rollers.
Yeah you need a new chain and a new cassette.
Clean the bike and chain more often and you will get 3 chains to a cassette,if you let the chain go for too long past its specified wear limit you will get one chain per cassette as in your current situation.
A chain checker tool is a great tool to have so you don’t kill cassettes every time .
