Seen a few of these failing recently, usually they’re been a decent enough guard. Seems likely material has been hardened too much, get in touch with where you’ve purchased it from as it’s looking like a manufacture defect.

It’s your non drive side, just buy a nice solid guard like eclat servo or daily grind. I have a steel fbm for the past 2 years and I have the even rotated it once, it’s just there taking a beating.
