Not your fault! That damn tree came out of nowhere, happens to me all the time.
I swear, trees hate mountain bikers!

When you go off the drop, you aren’t really in full control of the bike as you can see the front wheel twists then almost comes back straight before you land. When you land, your head bobs so much and your body collapses into the bike so you’re looking straight down at the ground. By the time you’re back looking up and in control, it’s already too late to miss the tree. I would focus on being the driver not the passenger, telling the bike where to go, looking where you want to go (down the trail past the tree) as you go off the drop and not collapsing into the bike so much on the landing (whether that’s suspension settings or technique – video from the side would help). It’s hard to say for sure from pov video but that’s my best guess (certified instructor). Hope that helps!
